The Peru Project
The Peru Project
The International Center for Consciousness Medicine

Last year, I had a vision about a project that would build connections internationally between healers throughout the world. I’m pleased to announce the first stages of that project. To that end, I will be traveling to the Andes Mountains this spring to meet with Jhaimy Alvarez-Acosta, a traditional healer from Peru. Our first goal is to create a center near Cusco, Peru that will serve as a place to preserve and pass down traditional healing wisdom as well as offer space for international healers to come and share their arts, acting as a bridge for people all over the world who wish to experience or learn about consciousness medicine. The Peru project, while a worthwhile endeavor on its own, is actually just the beginning of a network of such places. At this point, I want to acknowledge the amazing people who are helping to create this vision: Jhaimy Alvarez-Acosta, from Peru; Starr Muranko, from Canada; and Sara Kinakin, from the Doukhobor community in Canada. Starr and Sara are co-founders of This Moment Events. We will be bringing you updates through my website and this newsletter in the future! We’d also love to hear your thoughts and ideas about this project. Send comments to: info@alchemywisdom.com.

Update Summer 2008

My visit to Peru in June was largely to make a personal connection with the land and people.  Jhaimy and I also shared a developing heart connection, a knowingness that we know each other from some deep connection.  He is definitely a soul brother, committed to a path of service and love.  At the end of our journey this summer, we knew it was time to look for a location for the Center.  In the south, there is a different sense of timing for projects, and now we wait for the land to show itself...

Update Fall 2008

Starr is heading off to Peru for an extended visit with Jhaimy.  While there, one goal is to write up the project plan and with that we will begin seeking sponorship by a nonprofit organization.  Fiscal sponorship means your donations are tax-deductible from the beginning, without the year or more wait from the government for non-profit designation.  We look forward to sharing the plan with you as it develops!
